| Members-Only Tour of Permanent Collection Rotations |
Members learn about the exciting new rotations in the American art galleries with Senior Curator of American Art Jonathan Stuhlman. The rotations include a thematic gallery exploring the various ways in which artists have explored the idea of family and friendship, as well as other rotations throughout the rest of the installation of American art. The rotations include many exciting new acquisitions by artists including Charles Alston, John Biggers, Charles Ethan Porter, and William Baziotes, all on view for the first time, as well as a number of loans to the museum, including the DeMell Jacobsen collection’s newly-acquired flower painting by Georgia O’Keeffe and magic realist works by Robert Vickrey and George Tooker.
