Members Moment | Objects of Affection: Jewelry by Robert Ebendorf from the Porter • Price Collection
Join Rebecca Elliot, assistant curator of craft, design, and fashion and curator of Objects of Affection: Jewelry by Robert Ebendorf from the Porter • Price Collection, on a tour of the exhibition at Mint Museum Randolph.
Trained in traditional gold- and silversmithing, Ebendorf made his name in the 1960s by handcrafting jewelry using found objects ranging from vintage photographs and newspapers to animal bones, plastic toys, and more. The exhibition features jewelry, objects, and works on paper by Ebendorf as well as faculty and graduates of the jewelry and metal design program at East Carolina University, which Ebendorf chaired from 1997 to 2016. Most of the exhibition is drawn from the Mint Museum's Porter • Price Collection, assembled by Ron Porter and Joe Price of Columbia, SC.
