Kim Mupangilaï (Belgian–Congolese, b. 1989) is an interior architect, sculptural furniture designer, and educator based in New York, where she teaches at Parsons School of Design. Her practice examines cross-cultural identity, heritage, and the sociopolitical conditions embedded in art history and design through material-driven research and form. Her work has been exhibited internationally and acquired by institutions including the Vitra Design Museum, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Denver Art Museum.
Both the CAD Series and exhibition are generously presented by Wells Fargo. Each program includes wine and beer from 5:30–6 PM, followed by the talk, a post-program reception, and the opportunity to tour the exhibition. All talks are free and take place in the Van Every Auditorium at Mint Museum Randolph, 2730 Randolph Road, Charlotte.
